Mini USB Adapter and USB hub

Postby taksan » Fri Feb 22, 2013 5:02 am

Hi

These days I lost my mk802 female usb to mini USB adapter and tried to replace it with another I bought in a local store, but I just tried two and none worked at all.
Finally, I found the lost adapter and it worked.

Can anyone explain why a simple adapter wouldn't work? Is the adapter an specific kind of adapter?

I also tried to plug a common usb hub (which works on my computer), but it also didn't work. None of the devices attached were recognized. Do I have to buy an specific
kind of USB hub to make it work?

Thanks
taksan

It should be OTG adapter (On-The_Go)!
The original adapter delivered with miniPC is such a type.
There is also OTG cable adapter - in some cases convenient to use.

Thanks for the reply.

Following your advice, I tried another cable, but the results are the same. The upgrade starts, but the device turns off automatically.
It is really odd, because the behavior is very consistent. Everytime I plug the device again, it turns on (as expected). I start the upgrade
process and after less than a minute, it turns off. I'm mentioning the upgrade, but actually, if I just let the device lying connected, it turns
off as well. It looks like some sort of programmed behavior... like some kind of power save or overheating protection.

Any ideas?
