Bluetooth killing WIFI speed.

Postby haugwitz » Sun Jul 28, 2013 11:09 am

Dear forum

I have had my rikomagic 802IIIs 8gig with bluetooth for a while now and I have not been able to find the solution here.

When I enable bluetooth (I play the sound over my stereo via bluetooth), I lose connection to my NAS. After resetting WIFI everything works. But now wifi is horribly slow like 100kB/s or less.

The speeds without bluetooth are pretty bad around 1-2 MB/s, but horrible when bluetooth is enabled.

The signal appears to be fairly strong 3-4 bars.

I have tried several things:
I am using an Ipad 10watt power supply.
I have connected power supply in the otg slot instead of DC.
I have installed the newest android 4.1.1 firmware from april.

Should I take it apart and do some of that antenna fiddling that people have mentioned?

Hi Hauwitz,

If I have the riko 3 meters away from the Router, the WiFi is so bad, but, If I connect the Riko, directly to a USB port that has the Router, the speed grows up.
Try to put the router near the Riko, about 50-80cm, maybe the Riko needs more signal because when you connect BT or any other USB, the antena can't work fine.

So what you are saying is that, it is known that bluetooth and wifi doesnt work at the same time?

So if I want to stream while using bluetooth, I would have to use cabled ethernet?
