True 1080P Firmware for MK802IV

Postby andykirby » Thu Jun 20, 2013 6:52 pm

Hi Guys,

We are working to create an official 1080P Firmware for the MK802IV...

It shouldn't be long but if you cant wait (I know theres some digital signage guys out there that need this) heres a solution courtesy of NEOMODE over at Freaktab. 8-)

http://www.rikomagic.co.uk/downloads/Freaktab_MK802IV_1080p_ROM.zip

This is based on 4.2.2, Rooted and good to go...

For more info you can check out the post http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?5404-NEOTV-CROM-for-Flycast-MK809III-UG007B-QC802-Cloudnet-Go-CR9

Hi,

yes its quite safe... if you need to go back to the official ROM you can download it from the Rikomagic website.

best andykirby,

Do I need to install this rom with 1080p kernel with RKDevelopTool_v 1.37, using a paper clip or just with with Batch tool v1.7 This I ask because the content is different from the original rom of Ricomagic.

Thanks

Might I inquire if this solves the stuttering in video playing that most of us are suffering from ?

best amelmastema,

I have the same problem with video stuttering, it must be a firmware problem.
I hope that Ricomagic know about it and give as a decent firmware.
This mk802IV stick is sold far too early to us as customers, there are too many problems with it.
Its crazy that we must open the stick to make the wifi working.
My Xtreamer 1 is mutch better witch movies and it has a much slower cpu.

This custom firmware is most impressive. It's nice to finally have true 1080p. The difference is very clear.

I guess like most custom firmware it needs a bit ironing to be flawless. I found slight differences from different players, but still stuttering in my case. One of the players seem to have improved IMHO, I forgot which one though.

Although I do agree that it would be a lot more motivating for the Rikomagic QC to have been launched with a bug free OS, I hope eventually it will arrive. And I guess this thread is not reserverd for that issue.
