MK802IV Firmware - Important

Postby andykirby » Thu Jul 25, 2013 8:40 am

To clear up the confusion over which firmware you should install on your MK802IV. Rikomagic have issued the following information:

MK802IV with AP6210 Chipset (S/N start from July) should download the firmware 130719:http://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/z80zb4

MK802IV with RTL8188 Chipset (S/N start from May to June) should download the firmware 130620 : http://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/zzyqiz

Please note flashing the wrong firmware to the wrong device will either cause Wifi not to work or worse it may not work at all, so please check.

Support will of course be continuing for all versions of the MK802IV.

What support? The latest ROM for my device is over a month old and doesn't play video properly.

100% agree with venturerider. What - if anything - is Rikomagic doing about the abhorrently bad video performance on this beta-product?

My mk802IV :

Kernel version: 3.0.36+ Thu May 23 13:57:21 CST 2013

Build number: RKM MK802IV-eng 4.2.2 JDQ39 eng.hotack.20130523.135726 test-keys

Vendor software versione: RKM MK802IV_R-BOX_ANDROID4.2.2-SDK_V1.0.0_130514

what else should I look to confirm if RTL8188 or AP6210 ? It was ordered and delivered from a spanish vendor in 1st July, and i never touched is firmware (4.2.2 pre-installed).

Wait, why did they change the chipset ??

Does that meant that the stick previously bought is not working well ?

Additionally... it is definitely the 2nd generation of the MK802 IV if you have 4.2.2 installed on it's first run. Gen1 came with 4.1 installed.

blah blah blah Moto XT925, blah blah blah Tapatalk 2
