Hey,
Thanks for selling me beta hardware to supplement my beta software.
How can I return this trash I paid full price for, to get a non-beta and working TV-stick??
Thanks.

^that^

i read these teories:
a)if your device has 4.2.2 installed on it's first run, that's mean AP6210 wifi chipset.
b) if your device was ordered in July or after, that's mean AP6210 wifi chipset. Otherwile RTL8188.
c) if your device report "201307XX" = AP6210, otherwhile RTL8188 ?

My device has 4.2.2 installed on it's first run, but I'v bought it from a spanish vendor in 1st July.. but i guess it's been upgraded manually to 4.2.2 from the spanish vendor, because of "201305XX" report from the device. Oh, confusion.. :?

Think of it as half baked, and not beta hardware. In a mad rush to create a flagship RK3188 tv stick, RKM stumbled a few times. The 1st Gen IV is equally functional as it's newer counterpart, I'm sure. There has to be a substantial reason for swapping chips in mid run. I just find it confusing and slightly annoying. They can fix this, but need to focus on the hobbling IV if they want to survive the market. Unfortunately all evidence shows otherwise, at least on the hardware-software development layer. They are probably already cueing up designs on a new mess, cuz they don't seem to be present for the end user.

Return policies will always depends on the vendor. Contact those you bought yours from to get those specific answers.

Oops. I apologize if I was incorrect there.
I didn't realize 3rd party distributors were upgrading the OS. Is this to accommodate language changes in various regions?

So it means to check the back sticker S/N. Not the software#.

After buying a new power supply to replace the original one which stopped working, upgrading the firmware to 4.2.2 to get XBMC working, downgrading the firmware to 4.2.1 to get Netflix working, it now hangs 5 minutes after starting any Netflix title.

If a stable firmware is released to support such a basic use case as playing media, I'll be back. Otherwise I'm going to find a media device alternative that isn't such a unique fixer-upper opportunity.

Is this supposed to be the official support forum for the MK 802IV?

If it is, then can whoever is supposed to be giving official support please get their fingers out. If this place is run by volunteers / the community then please accept my apologies.

If this is not the official support forum then does such a thing exist?

Does anyone know of a webpage where it is possible to see the changes made & the release date for official firmware.
