i used http://www.g8.net/download/4.4/kernel/p ... eu.720.img (PicUntu 4.4.3 - Pre-Jul - 720p)

anyways to fix this ?

What device do you have - if it is MK802IV - can you also share the serial number....

Alok

it is a MK802IV(i wont open the stick though so i dont know the serial), but i know it does not contain the AP6210), or is it the code on the bck of the device ?
in that case 20130504***

This means, you have the Pre-Jul =8188eu chipset device...OR you have the ETV chipset device.

Help me find a working module asix.ko for network card AX88772A. I compiled module asix.ko from source, but when i was doing "insmod" it's response - device or resource busy

- Using either rkflashkit(Linux) or flashtool 1.37 (windows) flash the kernel (that you saved in /tmp/picuntu) into the RECOVERY partition

I'm unsure how to flash the kernel. I'm running PicUntu-4.5-nand-BasicGUI viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5160. But wifi is not working - it's a pre july device.

I thought about the "pre July 1080p" Kernel http://www.g8.net/download/4.4/kernel/p ... .1080p.img hoping that it will run with wifi.

In the RkFlashKit's NAND partitions i can just choose these partitions:

- boot
- kernel

So is it really necessary to roll back to Android just to get a Recovery partition?

However, I'm facing a problem. Picuntu is up and running on my pre July hardware (RTL8188eu), however, there's strictly no WIFI available. Do I have to install some drivers or the like?

EDIT: Problem solved. The WIFI has to be set to wlan1 manually (in wicd). Now it works really fine!

thanks this has helped me fix it :)

2 simple questons:
1 - Does XBMC work properly on this build?
2 - Will canging from Android to PicUntu fix the video stutter?

MK802IV Pre-July and WPA

Postby sgjava » Fri Nov 08, 2013 6:27 pm

I'm able to get Picuntu 4.4.3 to fire up on my Pre-July MK802IV and iwconfig shows wlan0, but adding the WPA info to /etc/network/interfaces doesn't work like it did with Picuntu on MK808. It appears that wpa-supplicant is missing and without wifi how can you install it. I looked around for the armv7l deb files, but couldn't find any. I'm setting this up as a headless server, so I just need the SKEL release to work.

I figured out my issue. You have to install wpasupplicant deb before WPA works. I'm using SKEL version for a headless server.

USB webcams not working

Postby sgjava » Tue Nov 12, 2013 12:28 am

I just tried a few cameras that work on MK808 under Finless and Picuntu. None of the cameras work under MK802IV (Pre-July) and NeoTV or Picuntu 4.4.3. Using official ROM MK802IV_8188_20130905_1080P.img the same cameras work. I assume this will require a new kernel build? Also, I used the OTG port and full size USB port to test. The weird thing is lsusb see the webcam, but none of the command line tools that work on Picuntu RC3 and MK808 work on Picuntu 4.4.3 and Mk802IV (Pre-July).
