live video transcoding

Postby mlasak » Fri Jul 05, 2013 2:54 pm

Hi,

is someone maybe as well trying to utilize the chipset to hardware encode video signals on linux? The capability to encode 1080p HD VP8 at 30 frames per second promises the mini pc to become a perfect streaming source. Does anyone have experience or has an opinion if such transcoding is even feasible with hardware acceleration? Would e.g. libav make any use of the gpu hw?

Thanks for you opinions in advance!
