Open terminal and type iwconfig to see if there's a WLAN device there.

Thank you Andy
I typed iwconfig
some script showed up : lo no wireless extension ect.
result: wlan1 unassociated
I also tried again
nano -w /etc/network/interfaces (This is where you add your Network SSID and Password) and it showed on wlan1
Sorry about my total Linux commands ignorance but I am learning
Any further suggestions

Any update on the possibility of getting the medaitek wifi drivers for the mk802iiis up and running? I'd love to try this distro, but lack of wifi support for the built in wifi is holding me back.

OK, I have just flashed succesfully finless rom 1.4 and booted picuntu. The problem was that i was using a usb 3 port instead of the old usb 2 port.
Now, i have a wifi usb stick with chipset realtek rtl8187b and it seems that picuntu does not recognize it. Is there a way to make it work?

HI. I recently purchased an MK802 III and I am anxious to get PicUntu loaded on to it. I have downloaded the ROMFlastToolMK802III, but I cannot get the device to boot into flash mode. There are no device errors in the Device Manager, but I get a dialog box saying the device can't boot into flash mode because of "no drive".

Help...

Just a thought, but what about using ndiswrapper to use an alternate version of the realtek drivers? My IIIs arrives in 2 days, and I want to get a head start on getting wifi up and running. I really, really do not feel like running a cable, or buying another usb wifi device. The wifi being built in, on such a cool device, makes me a little un-willing to use an external wifi device.

Andy, are you using QEMU to run the distro locally before flashing?
