Managed to put my MK802 into an eternal loop yesterday, so thought it would a good time to give the Firmware recovery tool a go. Had no problems downloading.. a couple of issues installing the drivers, and had to use Vista as I couldn't get the 64bit drivers to be recognised under Win7, and also had to use the 32bit version of of the tool to flash the image file, but all worked well..

On booting up the MK802, I started to notice a difference in its graphical performance. Where things like Angry Birds, Google Earth and the ICS interface had been pretty smooth in operation before, I'm now getting jumps and glitches. Netflix and meida players still work just as well as before.

Does anyone know if there are any tweaks that are possible to smooth it out to the way it was ?

Cheers

Hi guys,
I have sent an email to the rikomagic china:
Hi there,
I am an (happy) owner of the MK802 mini-PC. This device is really fanastic and works well, but it has got some little bugs:
  • Internet surfing with default browser is really slow;
  • Sometimes graphics is glitching;
  • Settings -> Display crashes;
  • No way to soft-shutdown (hard-shutdown can corrupt the external SD!!!);
  • Too many incompatibilities with Google Play store (i.e. I can't redownload Angry Birds);
  • USB-adb is not working: when I connect MK802 to my PC (linux or windows, no matter) my PC doesn't recognize it (it's like i've not plugged anything);
  • USB Webcam+mic are not working;
  • Anything is saved in the device's internal storage, but I've bought a 16GB SD card...so i have to move everytime everything I have downloaded!
  • No way to change screen resolution;
However I'm following your forum at http://www.rikomagic.co.uk/forum/ and all that i know is that "an update is coming", but when? What does it include? Are you planning on releasing everything opensource? I think that the Cyanogenmod guys can make a good work to make this device run as hell (in this way you can slow-down your software development).

Thanks for your attention

Orfeo aka Otacon

And this is the reply
hi,dear sir:
thanks for your kindly feedback.
regarding your feedback,I have passed to our engineer to check if we can update in the future FW.
the new FW can be released on July, usb camera can be supported,as to other fix list,i didn't get it.

Soft shut down and download setting is a problem indeed,I discussed with the engineer just now, hope we can
improve this SW in future days.

So the new firmware is coming in a couple of days!!! YEEEEHAWW

Sorry I took a while to reply.. stopped checking this forum.. been a busy week.
I believe the trick is to have the power cable plugged in before you attach the USB
also make sure USB debugging is activated in Android.
