XBMC / Kodi + Linux on V5LE & MK902IILE

Thanks to some amazing work by MAC_L1 over on freaktab, it's now possible to run Kodi on our V5LE and MK902IILE mini Linux PC's with full VPU hardware accelerated playback --- see the video below.

Audio is an issue at the moment but we are looking into it. Audio does work fine however with an external USB sound card so it's likely something to do with RK's HDMI handling.

Firmware updates for existing LE device owners will be available soon.

Big respect to MAC_L1 for his hard work.. don't forget to show your support ;)

Ugoos firmware works on mk902ii but no WiFi or blue tooth just set network to auto connect to get network to work. Just installed works. Andy can I get a copy of the kernel and resource file from your build to see if i can sound drivers work on it? Might get wifi and blue tooth as well with that.

Regards

hi all,

I followed the simplified instructions at

http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-sup ... ip-devices

which is the most up to date link for getting Kodi to work on the RK3288. It seems to run the install_mackodi.sh bash shell which installs a number of packages and makes some other mods. It even seems to update the parameter file of the RK3288 image, since the part fbcon=vc:64-63 has been added to the parameter file.

The problem is that:
a) Running Kodi hangs the system
b) insmod hogs one of the processor cores trying to run the kbase_mali modules, and further it is no possible to kill the process. Also the line #/sbin/insmod /system//lib/modules/mali_kbase.ko is commented out in /etc/rc.local, so it seems to be started up somewhere else.

Has anyone else come across this, or can anyone suggest a solution?
