CM9 on mk802

Postby scorpio16v » Mon Jul 23, 2012 5:10 pm

Today Christian Troy posted a new, working compatibility zip for his Cyanogenmod 9 port. It works now.
You should have the latest firmware installed.

The Custom Recovery should be installed.

You need the latest CM9 version from Christian Troy from the first post of the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... ?t=1760929

There is also a link for Google Apps, you should have in this post.

and the latest compatibility.zip
http://www.androidfilehost.com/main/All ... c/testing/

Now reboot in recovery, select wipe data/factoryreset and install in this way: CM9/Google Apps/legacy.zip and reboot.

My USB-LAN adapter works. My Sony Sixaxis controller is recognized. My USB Bluetooth dongle is working.

It's a start already.
Other thing, is it mandatory to have the latest official firmware installed before try CM9?

Wait'till tomorrow. Christian Troy says, that something in the 4.0.4 fw caused problems and he will build another compatibility.zip.
As I understand, his zip from today is based on boot.img of the new 0710 fw, so it is mandantory to udate to this one.
He will look at the old fw, maybe we will need this for better compatibility.

ok. guys. i need some more info on how-to

i have downloaded all the files, install supersuser, busybox and script manager.

i have installed the new firmware, and now i want to install "cm9_nightly_20120721.zip" that i downloaded along with the "mk802_legacy-compatibility_rc1.zip"

do i need to unzip these files? should i place them on internal or external memory?

and also. if i dont really want the Gapps, can i just skip that step with no problems?
