I do not think they use same.
My views, I was not able to get MK802 II into recovery mode. I installed CM 10 using CWM recovery, it crashed, HDMI signal coming but black blank screen. Luckily adb was working, got into CWM recovery via adb. Installed CM 9, it started but no wifi. Out of curiosity, I installed AOKP, now no HDMI signal, no ADB, no recovery. I guess mine MK802 is hard bricked now.

Yes you are correct it has its own firmware. This will be uploaded soon.

At the moment I am not 100% sure if you will be able to install either official and non official MK802(+) firmwares on the MK802II. It may not work because of the omission of the power management kernel modules in these firmwares.

Jus now managed to get MK802 II into recovery and was able to flash uberoid (Uberoid_MK802_BETA2.img), and it is working fine with WIFI.

Hello everyone,

I just received my MK802 II but am extremely disappointed. It's really slow. I could not even run Quadrant benchmark.

@andykirby and @sehgal.v7
a/ How can I boot into recovery in order to flash Uberoid?
b/ Is there a Linux SD image for MK802 II?

Thanks

People have I believe commented on having installed the MK802/MK802+ firmwares on the II with success (though obviously they won't get the power management of the II going properly in those cases). This is a good place to focus on that though. Folks, is this the case, or am I misreading some of the other messages, that the non-II firmware has been installed on the II and that it does not present any known problems? (And I'm just focusing on official firmware for this message, thanks.)
Run into a problem? Need ***Mini PC/MK802 services***?
(installing firmware, installing LINUX, getting/setting up SD cards, etc)

@r28073

If you received MK802 II, and you have not done any mods, I request you to please make a dump of original firmware.
Install cwm recovery, wipe data/cache/dalvik cache, backup.

It is very important as everybody jumps installing other firmwares without backing up original one :D (including me)

I tried MK802 Lubuntu on MK802 II via normal process, everything went smooth. Lubuntu started without any problem.

Thank You,
