If I remember correctly, black should be the ground wire, and the white and green twisted pair are usually for data. Most companies have red and black/brown as a universal power/ground identifier.
I'd say the yellow is likely your 5v wire, but I'm not comfortable saying for certain unless somebody else here can back my all too fallible memory up ^^;

I took one apart since they were so cheap and yellow is indeed the 5v wire.

I heard that the 100 and 500 will only work with RAZR phones. Some people making PiDocks reported that it flat out refuses to turn on if it doesn't recognise the HID of attached hardware. Some people here mentioned it as well; I'm not sure if there was a follow up or not. Last I heard though, only the Atrix and Bionic work for a MK Notebook or a PiDock while the 100/500 looks to be a bit more complicated than just being a dummy shell.

Thanks for the tips on this thread. I finally got my HDMI adapter from this place in HK (I'm in the States). I got free shipping, but found out that it takes 30 days to get it. If you opt for the $1 shipping, it only takes two weeks.

I have the MK802ii with the Atrix lapdock. Two niggles:
1) Can't use a full browser with updated Flash to watch license-restricted Hulu Plus shows (still recognizes it as a portable device) when hooked up to the TV;
2) No scrolling through websites on the touch pad. Have to use the down arrow key on the keyboard, acting like the tab button.

Hi

Trying this out with Motorola Atrix lapdock and MK802II - no keyboard or mouse support. Had a '5 pin' USB micro USB cable from eBay, this powered the MK802II OK. After reading this forum, used another USB cable to power the MK802II and cut the red wire in the first USB cable (between the MK802II and the micro USB connector in the lap dock), still no joy with keyboard.

The socket on the lapdock end of the cable has been trimmed and fits rather snugly.

I also tried another lapdock with the same result.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

So, besides getting a HDMI Female to Micro HDMI Female Adapter

What else should I get? Can someone enlighten me (especially the usb cables and adapter) and which one need to cut the red wire?

Thank you.

You should be fine with a 5 pin micro USB extension cable, if you're using a II/III.
If you can't seem to find one that works, and you need the separate data and power cables without having to cut anything, I'd recommend one of these http://dx.com/p/micro-usb-female-to-micro-male-female-adapter-cable-for-blackberry-9900-black-30cm-107901 you might need a Micro to USB adapter... I'm not 100% sure if you can plug the data cable straight into the OTG port. I'm a bit dumb like that ^^;

EDIT: Can I join my voice with the others asking for a sticky or some sort of amendment to the first post to cover this? I know the info's in the thread, but people branching off into different discussions on the MK802-Lapdock do kinda make it confusing for the newbies to figure out which bits are relevant.
