MK802 XBMC dead in the water?

Postby Hammond » Sun Aug 19, 2012 7:32 am

This doesnt look good - http://www.j1nx.nl/xbmc-allwinner-a10-update-5-last/

Allwinner are refusing to cooperate, lying and sending incorrect files. Sounds like we'll never get a proper XBMC port.

Let's hope a wire got crossed and this really isn't as blatant as that though it does seem to be :(
Run into a problem? Need ***Mini PC/MK802 services***?

Well, this might be a nice workaround.. (calling an external app in XBMC for playing video with hardware acceleration:

And indeed. somebody fixed it for the A10 chipset:)
XBMC working with external MXplayer on Allwinner devices, so you can have at least hardware acceleration on video, though not as neatly integrated as with the embedded XBMC player, still great news!

My MK802 is running smooth with uberdroid V1.1 and latest XBMC (04.09.2012)

Edit: Only tried .avi :) wich works perfect.

The issue is also not with SD AVI, this works great with software decoding.

The problem is that once you try a HD MKV, these NEON builds crawl to a halt, due to missing hardware decode libs. By using an external player with hardware decoding, this problem is sort of worked around, although integration is not as neat as with the integrated player.
