Hi twjordo,

I have posted this in TechKnow forums, just thought I'd post here as well :

Here is the list of changes that would make the most-awaited version ROM perfect :

(1) Incorporate the app called HideBar. Currently there are issues that when you play an embedded Flash video from TV websites e.g. www.sonyliv.com/kbc , you can not full-screen it. If you do, the screen goes black and flash video freezes. The problem apparently is caused by systembar and it can be resolved by installing HideBar app, as it hides the systembar. See these threads for more info :

http://rikomagic.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=351
http://rikomagic.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1316

(2) The current Flash Player in your ROM does not let you play flash video in HQ. Please uninstall the Flash Player and replace it with the latest apk that lets you play video in HQ. The apk can be downloaded from here :

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/39462568/AdobeF ... 111157.apk

(3) Enter Key is unmapped. Please map ENTER key at Key 28 as "ENTER" /system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl

(4) On-screen keyboard is currently ON as default in your ROM, please disable it.

(5) Please find a solution for "Blanking" problem. Many users (including myself) are experiencing this problem. Not sure about others but I started getting this problem after upgrading to Uberoid, which might just be a coincidence. The TV display goes blank after about 45 minutes of using, and mk802 needs restarting. Apparently the display frequency drops from 1080p 50Hz to lower frequency, but I have tried reducing the frequency setting to 1080p 24Hz from Settings->Display, the "blanking" still occurs. Here is one of the solution mentioned, but my Samsung TV has no such option : https://www.miniand.com/forums/forums/d ... ck-screens

Thanks!

thank-you 8-) and it is noted and as soon as we can get with HcH development will continue.... our schedules are currently missing each other but we will soon be working on this again.... very soon :ugeek:

also btw satcomranger (who is also an administrator of techknow as i am) is helping with the testing and is now also a big part of the developments so i anticipate his knowledge and input with the next release 8-)

Is support for bluetooth dongles out of the question? That would be great!

it will be incorporated but not all bt devices will work due the mk802's limitations 8-)

can sameone explain me why this rom have the sun4i_ir.ko driver and all related keylayout and device configuration to act as infrared receiver ??

the same module is used also in rev2 firmware but not in rev1 firmware

the sun4i_ir.ko module is for infrared remote control that we not have on the mk802

to work this type of control need same modification in the android source code that corrupt the normal managment of the external and internal devices.

i think that the rev 2 firmware and all related firmware was invented for another device like the mele a1000 and other allwinner device with the infrared remote control.

many users use this rev2 firmware only because it correct the hdmi output for same hdtv, but this rom is for other device.

you can correct the hdmi problem also in the rev 1 firmware, by changing the bootloader scripts. (i tested android in 1080p but is slow)

there is a tool bintofex and fextobin that transform the scripts in plain test and you can modify this.

my suggestion is:
base uberoid on rev1 firmware and correct the bootloader scripts only in the hdmi part

the lose app problem and the lose firmware without the Shutdown widget is related to the new bootloader in the rev2 that is invented for other device and cause problem on mk802.

other alternative is:
you can improve the cm9 or the cm10, all you need is a custom mk802 compatibility with a well bootloader script

all my word are for mk802, i not know mk802+

another question: who is the developer of the Rev 2 firmware for mk802 ? someone knows it ? really exists ? what is its exact origin ?

great info zulu99 8-)

the difference between the mk802and mk802+ is 1gb ram and the vent holes (to my knowledge this is all)

Hi zulu99,

Do you think the "blanking" problems being experienced by many users (as discussed in the thread below) might be because of the HDMI problems, and whether those can be fixed by editing the code ?
