I hate to sound dense but how do you "make sure filesystem is set to rw"

when you use an app such as "root explorer" it will display how the system is currently mounted at top left of screen i.e. --- "mounted r/o - mount r/w" --- or --- "mounted r/w - mount r/o" .....simply click the way you need the system to be mounted for the appropriate changes to be made.

r/o= read only ..... r/w= read/write

ES File Explorer - Long Press the file. (Press and hold for a few seconds, then let go of the file icon)

Look for the permission option and select and then you will see the below image.

It does always wipe my mk802 II. after i have applied that, my system is wiped each time i restart. i dont know how that comes.

Hi,

I updated my MK802 with uberoid 1.2, then i look at plataform.xml e the file is already correct, but i can't write on the samsung 1 tb external hd. Any sugestions? :?

how is the external hd formatted ??? try fat or fat32 if it is not already :ugeek:

It is NTFS, i will try, but my acer iconia reads and write this drive with no problem at all. Anyway, thank you very much for the attention.

One more thanks to OP for this fix, I can finally ftp stuff to my sdcard :)

For cheap bastards like me, a free alternate to Root Explorer is ES Explorer.
ES Explorer by default does not mount root folders, you'll have to go to settings -> root settings

Also, it seems after editing the file with ES Explorer, the permissions for the file get changed. You can change them back to rw-r-r by long-pressing the file (which will show a popup menu) and select "properties"
