it still states "Rikomagic MK802 Recovery Software (livesuite and firmware Rev.1) - 269mb download"

It may not be on this site yet, but it is on the official Rikomagic China site (which is arguably even more "official" than this site).

That's where I got my Rev.2 firmware just this morning.

I was asked for fix's for this stuff and thought it would be ok to post them here.

*These are not my fix's they are a collection of what I read over three different forums.

With this firmware update:

1) DTS Audio broke
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jy0aufhn1dqf ... 1.3%20.apk
(Download, copy to sd card, must run after installing for it to patch.

2) USB Keyboard (External) Enter Key unmapped *Edit with Caution. Always make a back up before editing.
Used ES Explorer and navigate to /system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl - Update then save
KEY 28 ENTER
*Might need to compare old or other Generic.kl to see which other ones was changed.
https://github.com/android/platform_fra ... Generic.kl
See this one above.

3) ExtSD write Premission
Fix EXTSD write permission :: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=75

4) Power Key unmapped on AirMouse?
See #2: change key 62 to the following.
key 62 POWER WAKE

Can someone upload for me the Generic.kl for the device so I can compare to the old one?

Hello everyone,

For starters, congrats on the forum. There is allot of usefull information here.

I'm new to the forum and I have some questions about the rev2 firmware.
I have my original firmware still installed and I'm considering an upgrade, but the main question is: Is it realy worth it?

From what I've seen, there are some major flaws for the new build. Is there any major advantages as well?

My main use for the equipement is playing/streaming videos and play some light games, both android native or console emulated.

Should I do the update?

Thanks in advace.

Thanks again for your help, exodus. I managed to do the keyboard fix in like 10 seconds once I got acquainted with the app. Now to get myself an SD card!

That's even stranger. The date posted for that Firmware is 7/23, this past Monday! So does that mean its a new Firmware Revision?

usb keyboard differences in the Generic.kl. They are either nulled or changed from what it was before to something else.

KEY 28, 29, 59, 60, 61, 62, 68, 102, 113, 116, 353, 377

They added these buttons at the bottom.

key 29 SHIFT_LEFT
key 59 PROG_RED WAKE
key 60 PROG_GREEN WAKE
key 61 PROG_YELLOW WAKE
key 62 PROG_BLUE WAKE
key 68 MENU WAKE_DROPPED
key 113 MUTE WAKE
key 274 MENU WAKE_DROPPED
key 229 MENU WAKE_DROPPED
key 370 SUBTITLE WAKE
key 377 TV_SYSTEM WAKE
key 392 AUDIO WAKE
key 418 ZOOM_OUT WAKE
key 419 ZOOM_IN WAKE

This is weird. It looks like they added a remote for the system. Also noticed they duplicated a few of the buttons but nulled/commented it out. Does anyone have the Generic.kl from version 1? If they do can you upload it to pastebin.com to compare to the current file? I suggest pulling the Generic.kl from the old firmware and using that one instead or using one from another Tablet AllWinner firmware.

Updated: I looked at the Mele a1000 and it has a remote with the GREEN, YELLOW, RED, Etc buttons and it uses the AllWinner CPU etc. Maybe this generic.kl was for that device? I am not sure.

Hi i still use stock FW so i copied Generic.kl into pastebin.com/QVNMpdYJ I hope i will be to some use. I am still waiting for some feedback about this new FW. Still not convinced if it's worth trying.

Actually as i am looking at Setting on my Android there's a option to boot into recovery with info thath this way i can install a update. Anybody tried that? Sounds more comfy then installing via livesuit.

For me most things work better on Rev. 2, but I have lost VPN. It no longer appears under Other in the Networking section of Settings and when I click on the PPOE heading I get an error msg that Settings has closed.

Can I uninstall the patch apk once I've successfully patched?
