Hi,
I installed the new firmware,
Here are my test results:
- Ethernet went from not working to slow (1Mb vs 50Mb with Wifi) (have a Gb LAN with 200Mb Internet access)
- Antutu score went up : 27000 to 33000
- Some H265 files that were not working are now working

Problems still present:
- Ethernet not working properly
- 2160p@60Hz not present in the display settings (I have a 4K HDMI 2.0 TV)
- Sound still mixed down to Stereo using (HDMI and SPDIF)
- When i change my HDMI source on my TV then come back to the RKM, the display stays black, I have to reboot MULTIPLE times to get it working (but the boot works, I hear the mail sound)
- Using 2160p@30Hz, android is still 1080p scaled up. The only 4K content I can see is the Video Player, I wrote an app that says running in 1080p.

Ethernet is still superslow, wifi is actually faster still.
Netflix does still not work.
No tun.ko module on device is not installed by default.

Atm I would not buy this device untill it get better support.
The device release have just been rushed way too much.

Hi Andy,
Tried to do the firmware update.
Loaded the batch tool and downloaded the firmware image file.
Followed the procedure right up to where the driver update asks for the firmware file.
When I browsed for it on my computer, it could not find the file.
I tried a number of times, but I could see the folder that the file was in, but it would not find the file in that folder.
Any suggestions please.
Thanks for your help.
Jim

Hi,

I'm wanting to flash my new MK902ii because im having issues with it as well. i.e. network speed and Netflix.
I'm having trouble getting the USB driver to work with Win 7 x64. I couldn't find a 3288 driver but found a 64 bit version of the 3188...The driver installed but the Rockchip batch tool doesn't recognise the device.

I assume I don't have the right driver. Where is this available?

Thanks,

Bassmann

Thanks Andy,

Got these drivers to work. Used the batch tool to upgrade to 140822 and after a few minutes said successfully completed. I rebooted the MK902ii and went into system > about device, but I don't think anything has changed.here.

Under build Number is says 20140821.095702 test-keys which I assume refers to firmware 140821.
Does this mean I am looking in the wrong place, or that the firmware did not upgrade.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks,

Bassmann

cool, but when I start to write the firmware through the program rockchip batch tool v.1.7 program tells me that the firmware is dated 21 August.... and no changes I noticed in the new firmware, ethernet also works worse than WIFI
