Multicast support

I want to use the MK902II LE as small router/NAT server, with multicast support.

The multicast option is not standard activated in the Kernel:
Code: Select all
$ sudo mrouted
mrouted: 10:55:40.766 Cannot enable multicast routing in kernel: Protocol not available

There is no kernel config file included to easily rebuild the kernel with multicast (/boot directory is empty).

Has anyone successfully used multicast, or recompiled the kernel?

Let me know where multicast should be enabled in the kernel config and I'll forward to the engineers

In kernel configuration:
Under Networking support, Networking options, enable
Code: Select all
IP: multicasting
IP: forwarding/gatewaying
IP: tunneling (required to use tunneling with mrouted)
IP: multicast routing + its sub-options
The IPv6 protocol

The IPv6 protocol opens an extra options screen. enable
Code: Select all
IPv6: multicast routing + its sub-options.

Let me know if this is the information you needed.

I distilled it from these references:
http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Multicast-HOWTO-3.html
https://delog.wordpress.com/2014/11/26/enable-ip-multicast-routing-in-linux-kernel/

Thanks!

Andy, any updates on this, or when could we expect an update?

My other option is to try to build my own firefly kernel as described in Thorkel's post http://www.rikomagic.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=7638. But the wireless doesn't work then, which is also a show stopper for me...
