Slow Wireless Connection

Postby UncleJohnsBand » Mon Feb 02, 2015 10:37 pm

I have an AC1750 access point as well as a standard 802.11N access point.

It seems I am only able to connect at 69Mbps o 89Mbps. My other devices (only 802.11N devices) connect at 144Mbps.

Any ideas?

I have the same issue. I have wr-1043nd router and connection speed is 65-74 Mbps. but my laptop connect as 300 Mbps. maybe this firmware.
Can you check Ethernet port? what speed you get when transfer files?

My Ethernet port is good...

However, when testing speed test I only get 13,195 Kbps vs. 42,796Kbs on my other N wireless devices.

I am guessing it is a firmware issue... maybe someone from Rikomagic will chime in here.

My bad on the speed test.... I was using a tester not able to handle broadband connection.

Re-tested:

On wireless I am getting 36Mbps up/down....this is about 4-5Mbps slower than my other wireless devices.

On wired I am getting 42.78Mbps down and 26.05Mbps up..... on my other wired devices (including if I hook to the same port that the K5 is on) I get ~42Mbps both up and down. So wired down is good...wired up is slow.

Do any techs from Rikomagic ever look at this forum?

I was thinking that this was a gateway to provide feedback to and get feedback from not only other users but also Rikomagic techs.

Since the V5 is supposed to be AC wireless connection speeds should be much higher.

V5 wifi is 2.4GHz/5GHz Dual Band WiFi; 802.11 b/g/n, not AC wireless.
Rikomagic show this in the website.

Ok... but even at straight N... I am getting low connection speeds to my N router 69 to 89Mbps.... my laptop gets 144Mbps to the same access point.

I dont think, that you can compare the V5 wifi with the laptop.
because the laptop OS is different, wifi module is different also, that's why there is a difference existing.

I am getting frustrated with the wireless speed on my RKM V5. The download speed fluctuates significantly when using the Speedtest.net app, but my upload speed is almost always consistently at my max broadband upload speed of 12 Mbps. If I could consistently get 12 Mbps from this RKM V5 device, I could live with it for now, but it is struggling to get over 4 Mbps. I spent quite a bit of time the other day trying various orientations to see if it affected the wireless speed. I thought I had solved it as tests were showing 10 - 13 Mbps fairly consistently. Now, without the device being moved at all, speeds are back to 1 - 4 Mbps. This does not allow the streaming media to work to my satisfaction, which is one of my primary uses for this device. I have checked for updates via the menus and it reports I have the latest version of all system and Rockchip updates. Is there any way to resolve this? I would love to see the kinds of speeds that you have reported here. All of my other Android devices are hitting 20 - 70 Mbps consistently.
