UVC kernel module for 3.0.36-t1+ miniand lubuntu 12.04

For those who interested, I have built uvc kernel module for miniand's lubuntu 12.04 Linux image. Used those instructions: link, except that I didn't copy new kernel and all new modules - I only used uvcvideo.ko - and it works fine with old kernel. Note, if you completely replace new kernel and new modules you may get display not working (device boots, network available, but no screen detected).

download: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1350713/uvcvide ... _12.04.zip
md5: 31177891E9A788DEC937CB578FD654E5 uvcvideo.ko
command to insert module: "insmod uvcvideo.ko"

Tested with USB webcam 046d:08c1 (Logitech Quickcam Fusion): ffmpeg, guvcview, motion - all works fine

Hope this helps

Thank you a lot.
I just test different linuxes trying to find the fastest and stablest version as well as trying to install xbmc for MK8002 II.

Could you tell us something more about uvcvideo.ko? Its name suggested its a video related library. Why should we insert it?
Forgive me but I'm not a linux man :-)

You should only use it if you have UVC compatible web camera (http://www.ideasonboard.org/uvc/#devices). After inserting the module there will be video device created: /dev/video0. From that time you can use vlc to grab video, run surveillance software or setup motion detection system (ex, http://www.lavrsen.dk/foswiki/bin/view/Motion/WebHome)
