If you want to use the mk802 II as a linux server better to add a usb ethernet adaptor.
On my device the wireless connection is not stable. Sometimes the internet doesen't work and when I ping the router all the packages are lost even if its shows that there is a wireless connection .

My wifi works perfectly. I used it to run 24*7 to host mercurial and web blog. I put it right under my router.

I believe there may be wifi signal interference. Switch wifi channel in your router. That helps a lot.

I've tested today form some hours how stable is the wifi connection. With the device 10 " away from the router after some few minutes I cannot ping the device.
The same problem happens with android. Probably the wireless antena have some interference.

Router is the one of the main problem, if your area can detect multiple AP especially in city. I'd recommend use dual band router.

I've managed to configure my MK802 II device to work as a server with linaro Linux and kernel 3.0.36-t3.
It was a lot of work to compile all necessary modules into kernel to support IPV6, full iptables, ppp(needed for 3G and ppoe connection) and other modules needed for a vpn server.
The original kernel has just a few modules for mk802 to be used as a desktop.
I use it as a VPN(pptpd) server for now. Also I've installed apache and php for future projects.
If someone want to see more details about system info can visit http://serox21.no-ip.org
Also I can provide .config file for kernel compilation or compiled kernel and modules.

If more details are needed just ask :)

P.S. I use a wired ethernet connection using a USB dongle.

I have now solved my WiFi problems. They would seem to be R/F interferance,
If I ran the 802 on top of the desk there was no contact.
Hanging the 802 over the side of the desk near the floor results in a connection that has run without problems for a week.
In this case the router is on the floor below, the other side of a solid brick wall.

Hi serox, I'm using Linaro too, same kernel 3.0.36-t3+, I have an issue with my USB-to-Ethernet adapter (ASIX AX88772), with an intense network traffic (es. transfer of big file) speed falls down and then the whole system hangs up. Which dongle are you using?
The new drivers should solve the problem, but I'm not able to compile the source. Here's the latest drivers: http://www.asix.com.tw/FrootAttach/driv ... Source.zip
Can you complile it for me?
Thanks in advance!
