Excellent Software for MK802II (and others)

Postby kermitwoodall » Sat Jan 05, 2013 9:10 pm

I tend to obsessively find what I consider to be the best software for any device I'm using. No different this time.

You want full DLNA on your MK802II?
Grab ArkMC from the Play Store.
You can browse other DLNA devices, control them, or send audio/video to them. It also supports directly playing from Youtube channels.

Remote control your MK802II?
Grab Droidmote Server and Droidmote Client from the Play Store.
This is a well-thought out set of apps. Server is what you'll install on your MK802II and the client app on your phone. You can then connect them via Wifi and use your phone as a mouse, airmouse, dpad, game controller and more. It doesn't try to echo the screen over the connection like Rikomagic's software so the bandwidth is quite low.

MX Player and Moboplayer both work well for playing nearly any format of audio/video you throw at them (although MX Player gets my nod as being a bit better).

Also, the recent XDA sourced program, Seeder, which is now on the Play Store is a must for speeding up the interface and more.

Check 'em out. Share your discovers here if you like.

Since my Rikomagic CPU speed appears to be constant and it doesn't use a battery I don't see any issues with it. On my phone and tablet I didn't see amazing speed increases but I definitely saw a huge improvement on the Rikomagic.

:)
