Thanks for install methods, but firmware is 10/31, posted before.
Unfortunately not possible to recover a bricked device (need flash with RK Batch Tool).

I received my MK802III yesterday. The main issues for me is stability. It crashes and restarts quite a lot due to compatibility issues. The main issues is that it has the power under the bonnet to do A LOT! However, the current firmware is in such an early stage that the Play Store doesn't recognise it as a proper device.

I assume moving forward if they can add spoofing of a Nexus 7/10 to the ROM, then it will be really good. At the moment Chrome, YouTube just mention a couple of major apps, just wont install from the Play Store due to incompatibility. That's not to say you can't side load them, it's just more convenient to install directly.

I'm hoping someone on XDA will take on the challenge of making a CyanogenMOD 10 build for it. It really needs some extra tech support at this stage, the very fact there is no option for Live Wallpapers is rather sad considering some of them would look stunning on my HD TV (eg Simaquarium found here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.SimAquarium.LWP)

A shaky start, but the specs are there to give this device a very good chance of being exceptional value for money to make any HD TV a Google TV.

I got my MK802III on Saturday. It had the original firmware that came with the device and suffered from incompatibility issues and reboots.

However, after installing the above firmware, like Bill states, it's much more stable.

Now Chrome, GMAIL, Google Maps, Street View, to name just a few apps, can now be upgraded via the PLAY Store.

Now if they only can add Live Wallpapers to the Desktop/Display Options.

Firmware helped a lot with flickering issue. But resolution is still only upscaled to 1080p. Hope newer firmware is upcoming soon. Also video playback (at least for hd video) is a bit laggy. It is relatively smooth but when you focus on details, you see that there is unconstant framerate that is lowered in regular intervals (if you get what I mean). Maybe drivers needed to be optimized, because this phenomenon is watchable in every player.

I know it was posted before, but thanks Bill for posting again with clear instructions. Nice and easy and now I don't feel like I bought a dud. Hardly anything worked before installing this, but now it works perfectly.

Live wallpaper works fine for me. Long-hold on the home page to bring up the options. I've got a lovely clouds type wallpaper that looks awesome on a HD TV.
