Silly question - have you tried a static ip? I had similar issues with my MK802II but after assigning a static ip it's worked wonderfully. Also, with regards to wifi keyboards you don't need the transmitter too far away. I put a 10cm extension on it & am at full strength with the combination of these tips.

Hope this helps a little - would save a lot of wiring hassle.

Hello, finally I did completely new setup of the router. One think I have noticed was that the maximum speed was allowed only 11Mbps. I change it to 54Mbps.
I´m getting better results for download/upload than with others devices in my network now (7Mbps download/ 1Mbps upload) :D
I also follow your recommendation and use the static IP, but to be honest I´m not sure what the real root case was..

So after after couple of minutes testing I have to say, there is no progress.. :(
As soon as I start constant streaming or downloading the speed fall down to the same minimum as before. If I switch off/on wi-fi on the MK802 I have back nice download but again only for a moment..
This is the feedback from technical support of Rikomagic to that topic:

"HI,:
Our SW team is working on this problem all the time,
we will improve the wifi function in future FW,sorry about this.
Best regards!
Michelle"

Hi,

I had similar problems...
But I now found a way to make it work consistently in my system:
1. Force the WiFi to ch 1. (This seems to be the channel that the antenna in the mk802 iii works best with)
2. The HDMI seems to cause some interference; especially if you use (like I do) a cheap HDMI-switch (i.e I dont think it is the mk802 that causes interference it self but the switch). Putting metallic stuff/tin foil in beween the switch and the mk802 and making sure the mk802 is as far away as possible to the switch/connector.

I now have consistently ul/dl 20/20MBit connection (sustained speed; tested with speedtest.net) - The WiFi indicator shows 74MBit; If I remember it correctly

Regards // OwL

Hello, thanks both for your tips!
- I chose the channel 1 as recommended and there is no improvement in my case :( I´m connected directly to hdmi connector in my TV (without any switch).
- I don´t want to do any hardware modification on my own as I would loose the warranty. If new firmware will not solve the issue I will try Minix NEO X5.

MK802 III and UG802 have the same hardware with fault wifi module not solvable.

the only two good mini pc that i have tested is the mk802 first edition with 1 GB ram and the new Minix Neo G4

Minix neo g4 also have the rk3066 dual core.

Sorry for this post, I wish it were not so, and many of you know why, but this is the truth.

I hope to be proven wrong with a firmware that fixes everything, but I see this very difficult.

Agree. This is a hardware fail, period... I did a hardware modification, and it solved it. No way a firmware realese would fix that.

i'm sick of this device.
Spent 2 days now trying to make it useful.
Wifi is a disaster on it. Cant connect to google play.
Its just rubbish.
I think i'll just chuck it in the bin.
