Never mind the USB driver in recovery download.

Get this one

and you don't need to get a microscope and nano tools to do the pin shorting.

"Update" is the second button from the left at the bottom of the batch tool. Worked for me and it's back working

Ok, got the Finless 1.7 to load - finally ......
I did try just the RKBatchTool 1st (per above), but mine was way too hosed for that. Finally got the "magic" to work with the pin6-7 bridge. You really really have to have it bridged BEFORE you power on for it to go to flash mode (that isnt speeled out in any of the previous posts I've seen anyways).

After that the Finless tool works great, went 1st to 1.6 then to 1.7 because I thought WiFi wasnt working after 1.6 load - duh - forgot my router isnt public.

So far so good, need to test the 1080 and other upgrades. Thanks to all for the tips.

After 10 months of service our MK802 III was hanging during startup (this happened within a week of installing Netflix, I hope it's unrelated).

Yesterday I tried flashing it about 10 times from one of my PC's USB3.0 ports and the flashing didn't work at all - nothing happened when I connected the MK802 and removed the needle between the 6th and 7th pin. After reading that it matters - in a forum post for another Rockchip product - I tried it again from a USB2.0 port and the flashing worked fine today :).

Does anyone else have the experience that one USB port works and another doesn't?

I'm having the same problem with IDB error when flashing. Anyone have any ideas for how to fix that?
