usb ethernet

Postby Qvalla » Thu Nov 22, 2012 8:03 pm

Hi there
My wifi drops that so many of you others have experienced so I bought a USB Ethernet adapter and connected. But then the internet is possibly even more unstable
Even then i cant stream from my computer without lag. I had read on another forum about a guy who did it with his mk802III. Could it be my router causing the problem? :?: Belkin N Wireless modelF5D8236-4 v2
And no I have not updated mkMk802II to the last update yet. Just wanted to check if you wise men had a any idea :D

no the problem is power ! i had the same issues. make sure that when you attach an usb hub and start adding stuff to it :P you stop using a normal usb port (500 mAmp) and start using a usb charger rated at a minimum of 1 AMP. I had the exact same issues with both the usb ethernet and usb webcam.

Ok :) so I have to feed my mk820 with power from a USB charger to connect the usb hub.
I'll try it right away and hope it fixes my problems with my ethernet connection.

Ok so now I've tested with an external charger and yes my ethernet network became more stable and I have speeds around 7mbit / s up and down.
But I can not stream 720 or 1080 without lags!
I can understand the lag over wifi but not with cable :?
Tried both the built-in media player and other type MX player and no one can do it.
Quite disappointed with my Mk802 right now. :(

I have USB to ethernet convertor plugged in to unit directly and works fine.

Using the most recent firmware.

Only issue I have is that after power-up I have to disable and then enable the Ethernet to get an IP via DHCP.

I have exactly the same touble.

I use a Ethernet connection (cable) instead WIFI thanks to an RJ45/usb adaptor. It's work perfectly but
the trouble is that everytime I star the device, even if Ethernet stays "enabled", the interface doen't work,
I have to enter in the parameters to disable an enable "Ethernet" to have the interface working again and that,
whatever the mode, static IP addressing or dynamic.
With wireless (WIFI) connection, there is not this problem, when WIFI is enabled, when the device is starting,
WIFI interface gets an IP address directly, the interface is working, but not by wired connection, the interface doesn't start automatically and have to be disabled and enabled again to solve the problem and to work correctly.

Sorry don't have a PC. I am using a WD 2Tb drive via non-powered USB hub. This works great.

Had same issues, Install the mxplayer with all the possible codecs (arm 5-9) and use it to play the files.
Mxplayer will default to the hardware decoder, move your mouse to the upper section of the screen and you will find an option to switch to the "software decoder".
Do that and it should play fine. (TURN DOWN your volume before switching to sw dec... it almost gave me a heart attack )
With the sw decoder you will not experience lag, however, that does not mean it's not there anymore :) (the movie will play fine, slow down when there's a lot of "excitement" on the screen and speed up again when it can breath, speed up again - tested with resident evil movie in 1080p :P , audio will not lag)
