Keyboard Layout problem

Postby onichan » Fri Nov 23, 2012 2:54 pm

Hi!

I'm a new user with a MK802III device and a IPAZZPORT keyboard! I have rooted the device and installed superuser and busybox.

My problem is that my keyboard is QWERTY but when I start writing it seems that the keyboard layout is QWERTZ. I don't know where to change it or how to, so please, if anyone have this problem or knows how to change this, help me.

Cheers

I ended up with spending few Euros for the External Keyboard Helper App. There is a post in this forum where someone describes how you can edit the keyboard layout yourself, but for me this sounds like a waste of time.

I wrote a post few weeks ago with a solution that should help you.

This post can perhaps help you

Qwertz is if i don't make an error a german layout.
In my case, i had to modify layout to have azerty on mk802III with keybord logitech. But on samsung galaxytab2 with other bluetooth keyboard, i don't have to make this manipulation. I just have to press language key on keyboard.

Hi All
I have solved this problem,
The problem there are two files on the ricomagic with the wrong keyboard setting.
this are the files who has to be replaced:

/system/usr/keylayout/Vendor_0c45_Product_7000.kcm
and
/system/usr/keychars/Vendor_0c45_Product_7000.kl
And this is the way to do it:

Start up ES File Explorer and navigate to:
/system/usr/keylayout
make a copy of generic.kl
delete Vendor_0c45_Product_7000.kl
rename the copy of generic.kl to Vendor_0c45_Product_7000.kl
now navigate to
/system/usr/keychars
make a copy of generic.kcm
delete Vendor_0c45_Product_7000.kcm
rename the copy of generic.kcm to Vendor_0c45_Product_7000.kcm
Exit ES File Explorer
restart your Ricomagic.
and all the keys are working as printed on the keyboard.
Greetings
