Help: MK802 III keeps rebooting when I stop moving my mouse

Postby caoliang75 » Wed Feb 27, 2013 3:42 am

I have a weird problem with my MK802III (4G version): when I watched the videos (youtube, netflix, pps or even local mkv files), I have to keeping moving my mouse. Otherwise the system will reboot or just freeze in a couple of seconds which is very frustrating. I'm using firmware 20121129 and I can't find the newer firmware. Does anybody have the same issue? And where can I get the latest firmware? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

probably completely unrelated, but for the sake of ruling out the mouse, have you tried using a different mouse? also, do you have over 1 amp going to the device? I ran mine from my phone charger at 1 amp and the unit acted up sometimes when the cpu demand was high. I have found a good 2 amp usb charger on amazon by belkin that is used to charge an ipad, (blasphemous, i know), that i purchased and my device is working great even overclocked. a note of reference I am also using a logitech k400 keyboard/ touchpad combo.
*with the firmware you are running, you should be able to use mk802 remote found in the android market, (assuming you have an android) try installing that and unplugging your mouse all together and see if that solves anything. hope this helps!

Very likely to be an A/C Adapter issue, as benjaminjaquith mentioned. If you search these forums and others, you'll find that lots of random reboots/crashes come from a simple lack of Amp in the adapter. Make sure you have at least 1.2A, 2A recommended. This sounds even more likely that it seems related to an increase in CPU usage (switching to full screen mode when you stop using the mouse, I assume)

Tried IPad charger with 2.1A output, still no luck. Using different wireless mice, got the same thing. Unfortunately I don't have android phone so I can't test the rikomagic remote controller. Is there new firmware somewhere?
Thanks folks for the advice though it doesn't work for my case:(

Fortunitely I found the solution: finless rom. I flushed finless v.1.7 with kernal 720p and works like a charm. Now I can sit and enjoy video without moving my fly mouse. Hope this info can help someone having the same problem like me.
