mk802 iii Broken - Literally

Postby viren297 » Sun Mar 24, 2013 2:56 am

Hi,

My rikomagic mk802 iii stopped working suddenly and I tried everything listed here http://www.rikomagic.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2725&start=10
While trying to rest using the 2 pins, I accidentally pulled the micro usb cable too hard and the SMT connector came off the board.
Now, I am stuck, I couldn't recover nor is the micro USB on the board now.
Can I still recover the device using just the USB port/cable?
I What are the options for me now?

The mk802iii microusb connector is very, very, very, fragile.

I f!@# mine 2 units because of that.

And found no way to recover, since it's powered from microusb port.

It's an amazing device, good hardware and software. But chineses made a bad job on a US$ 0,01 component that lead everything to the trash.

Isn't there any way to solder that back onto the board?

I tried...

The tracks are very thin. Even a eletronic repair store couldn't bring it back to life...
