Does anyone know how to roll back this update? I can't connect the stick to my pc I think, unless it's possible through the mUSB port, but I guess that's only power?

If no other options, is it safe to do a factory reset?
hi Teknologic, download in first post viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3193#p8027 update by tf card

Thanks for your reply man, I had already tried with some other firmware but it looks like it was the same version; same result anyway. Update failed. Seems like these firmwares aren't backwards flashable.
I get the open android on it's back.

Can anyone advise if it's safe to factory reset? I read at least one experience of someone who ended up with a blank device and like I said, I have no way of even connecting it to my PC. So I'd like to know in advance, since this is still quite a lot of money to throw away if everything is wiped off it.

hi again Teknologic, just to check you Prepared update right, extract the rar file, and you get another rar file, rename it to just update copy straight to tf card,i did it this way and worked for me,if not in the past i have done a factory reset and all ok for me,but you will loose all the apps you have downloaded, make a note of apps and re download them, hope this helps you out mate

does anybody still have a link for the update.zip for the May 2013 firmware? It seems the official link is dead (and I don't want to go with the recovery tool version...)

I'm using new firmware about 15 days. It's horrible. It works perfectly in almost all applications. Added ethernet controls in settings menu. And it's realy smoothly work. But!!!!! All FullHD video files are laging and freezing by any player was try to use (it's own video player, MX player, BS player). Back up to previos firmware is not availible because boot loader is changed.
And sorry for my terrible english... i'm russian :D

I've sent a question off to Rikomagic Service department, will update when I know more. I'm using Finless 1.8 and won't be switching unless there are benefits in doing so.

Here's the response from Amanda at Rikomagic.

Hmm the new software changed the new boot animation and boot image.
Modify app background.
