Audio: 5.1 / DTS via HDMI or SPDIF

First of all you've created a very nice product with the Rikomagic MK902II.

It runs like a charm and has only got me wondering one thing; How do I get 5.1 / DTS enabled video files to work? I've used XBMC (13.2), VLC, MX PLayer, it just seems that the sound doesn't get passed through via either HDMI or SPDIF.

My previous setup lacked power to play larger files, but did however play all the 5.1/DTS files with perfect audio to my Receiver. Both over HDMI and SPDIF and this setup hasn't changed, so I was wondering: Am I missing a setting? Because even though passthrough is enabled within XBMC, it does only send PCM streams to my receiver.

I have to second this, as I cannot get surround sound out of my RKM MK902 II either.
Same setup worked fine with my previous setup, so I'm not really sure where to begin looking.

The Onkyo receiver reports PCM audio regardless of what I do, I even tried with a surround testing application from Google Play.

Same problem here, I tried many players only PCM stereo audio?
Come on guys?

I got audio pass-through over S/PDIF (not HDMI!) by following the instructions in this post:

It requires you to replace a system file and install an alpha version of XBMC/Kodi.
But if you like your audio in more than 2 channels, it's the only option that worked for me to this date.

android system audio setting must be set to option passtrough
HW+ option dont work anly normal HW

just download zip with codec and mx player automaticly ask you on start if you want to use it.

I have tried everything with Kodi but MX Player works better
