I had the fails with both 1031 and 1115 firmware upgrades. Then I replaced my very old 4GB SD card with a new 16GB card and it worked. So it was either not fast enough (being old technology) or somehow not enough free space on the card.

This has been answered many times on this forum. Use a recent FAT32 SD card 4GB or more. put the update.zip file at the top directory.

I was running an update on my Rikomagic MK82 iii and it all seemed fine (copied the update.zip from mk802ii firmware20121031, to SD card). The Rikomagic showed the Android robot and a process bar and eventually it asked me if I'd like to erase the update-file which I answered "yes" to. Then nothing happend, then nothing happend and when I restarted the Rikomagic nothing seem to work. I get the desktop with icons but nothing seems to run (except Google Chrome), it won't even let me get in to "settings". All that happens is that the screen flashes once and I'm back to desktop.

I've tried other updates and the device seem to update but then I'm back to the same desktop where nothing works. I've also tried to reinstall the firmware using the livesuite (and also by writing the disc image from the command line in Mac) but the Rikomagic just ignores that file. I've tried to connect the Rikomagic to Windows XP (32 bit) through USB but it won't show up.

I'm out of ideas. Should I consider this Rikomagic doomed or is there any hope?

No, it wasn't doomed. With a little help of a paper clip and this guide: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3229

Up an running again, now with latest firmware.

It's not original digital signed update.zip package. Prease unpack downloaded package with firmware.

Hi,
I tried to reset the Rikomagic MK802 III two days ago and the whole device now went blank, with the screen showing "Not Support". Can I recover using the steps you described here? Also, the link appears to lead to a site where the download has expired.

Thanks for any help offered
