@krankdroid --- no need to unzip the files just place them on your external sd in a folder..

Out of interest.. why might you not want the gapps? as it is I do believe that gapps is actually needed for you to have a coherent and working CM9.

I'd also suggest reading my CWM posting.. CM9 info at the bottom of the first post

i was under he impression that gapps was just google apps, like google talk, gmail, maps and the works.

and since i have my MK802 set up to watch movies on in my bedroom only, i really have no use for that.

maybe i got it wrong ?

All I can say is give it a go a see what happens.. but yeah essentially thats all it is, google apps... it does go through and updates about 120 elements within the system though.

You could happily remove the likes of maps once installed booted.. i did ;)

CM9 stuff has always been there (first was a warning not to try and install it because of no HDMI support), but would not put out any links until it was actually 99% usable. now it is :)
the 1% is because of the glitchy user-interface as its having to use some elements from the previous update/restore firmware(003) so we have HW video/audio decode.

I flashed CM9 + CWM, but the internal SD isn't mounted anymore. I flashed the .zip-package from UpdateMe that formats the internal SD, which didn't help. Is anyone else seeing this behaviour?

Kind regards,
Markus

I installed CM9 today and it works great, except sound, that after some time, stops working.
I already explain the problem to Christian Troy, in his thread.

Is this happening with anyone?
Try play different movies sequentially, this is how my sound stops working.

Quick question... did you upgarde to the new firmware (having to flash via LiveSuite) before installing CM9? CM9 needs the latest firmware to base itself upon when installing. If done with the stock firmware, or previous recovery firmware supplied by rikomagic china, the result will be no internal sd card mounted.

If you are doing it on the "stock" firmware that shipped with the MK802 you will need to make the following change to the file /system/etc/vold.fstab after flashing CM9.

Change this line
Code: Select all
dev_mount   sdcard   /mnt/sdcard   auto   /devices/virtual/block/nandk

to
Code: Select all
dev_mount   sdcard   /mnt/sdcard   auto   /devices/virtual/block/nandi

Then reboot.
